" Professor Hans Joachim Schellnhuber, Director of Institute For Climate Impact Research in Potsdam - PIK
Professor Hans Joachim Schellnhuber is one of the largest world authorities on climate change. He heads the Potsdam Institute for Klimafolgenforschung (PIK) since its founding in 1992. He is Vice-President of the German Council for Global Change, Chief Adviser to the German Federal Government on Climate Change, and a member of the Advisory Group on Energy and Climate Change ; policies of the President of the European Commission. She has taught or lectured at the Universities of Regensburg, Oldenburg, California / Santa Barbara, Arizona, East Anglia and Oxford. He was elected President of the Wuppertal Institute in 1999. He directed the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research between 2001 and 2005. It has a vast work, comprising over 200 articles and 40 books, published the best international scientific journals and publishers. He was honored with numerous awards alemãse international, where we highlight the CBE (Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the Bristish Empire "), granted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2004, and the German Prize the Environment (2007).
